We have become heavily involved in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP). This year was meant to be our third year participating, and much of the groundwork had been done before schools were closed. Hopefully we can run with one of our projects next year.

The programme entails children working through collaborative meetings to devise various ways by which the group as a whole could raise money for a specified project, field trip or even charity. Children must devise and present their ideas from which a winning entry is chosen by a panel of “Dragons” (including local business people)

Once the overall project is decided upon, it’s all hands on deck to produce, advertise and sell the product. It is a fabulous way for children in 5th and 6th class to understand the world of business, how ideas work and what it takes to make those inspirations become a reality.
